Bunmi Isijola is a proud alumnus of the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife, Osun State where she obtained a B.A in Environmental Design and Management (Graphics) in the year 1998, and an MBA in Management in the year 2008. She graduated top of her class and her brilliance has been evident in the various job roles she has held over the years.
Consequent to her work experience, her desire to improve her managerial skills and institute better organisational processes, she qualified as an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIMN) in 2004 and also as a member of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing (chartered) in 2006.
With about 20 years of experience in the oil and gas sector; she possesses an extensive knowledge of the sector, having worked in various companies and capacity across the entire Western region and the country as a whole. She started out her career at National Oil & Chemicals Plc (later became Conoil Plc) and held several positions such as Lubricant sales executive, Commercial & Industry executive, depot executive and eventually Retail Sales Superintendent. She later joined Sahara Group in 2006 where she served in different business developmental roles and eventually as Team lead, SO Energy Nigeria- a subsidiary of the Sahara Group. In this capacity, the company enjoyed tremendous growth and moved from the position it was to a house hold name in competitive downstream that it played in the country and profitability a goal that was possible. This change in the company became a game changer as her customers would always commend their service delivery.
In 2015, she was moved to Ghana where she became the Vice President, Downstream West Africa for the downstream business in Ghana of which it included the Retail outlet growth, Bulk and Commercial sales, Bulk Distribution Company and So Aviation business in Ghana.
She presently occupies the position of Chief Commercial Officer within the Sahara group downstream entities.
She has various awards from the industry and her team has won consistently in three years the best team spirit award in the Sahara group (back to back)
Bunmi’s skillset cuts across sales, marketing, procurement, logistics, contract negotiation,people and management. She is a passionate leader who enjoys self and people development. She is able to push performance improvement while at the same time delivering growth. With unrivaled communication skills, she is outgoing, friendly, enjoys meeting people, travelling, power bikes and a good game of volleyball. She holds a medal from Nigeria University Games (NUGA ’97) .
